The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program was created in 1983 to supplement the work of local social service organizations within the United States, both private and governmental, to help people in need of emergency assistance. This collaborative effort between the private and public sectors has disbursed over $3.1 billion in Federal funds during its 25-year history.

Phase 26 Funding Deadline Information

Local Board Plans for all Phase 26 direct and State Set-Aside funding are past due. If your Local Board has not submitted their plan for Phase 26 funding, you should contact the EFSP office immediately. The deadline for Second Payment Requests has been extended to Friday, August 29, 2008. Please ensure that your second payment request is submitted to your Local Board and they sign and submit it to the EFSP as soon as possible. In order to receive Phase 26 funding, LROs need to resolve any outstanding compliance issues and submit the second payment request.

Phase 25 Final Reports and Compliance

All Final Reports for Phase 25 (FY2007) funding are now past due. If your agency has not submitted the Final Report for Phase 25, please do so immediately. LROs should resolve any compliance problems as quicky as possible to ensure receipt of Phase 26 funding. Final Reports for Phase 26 (FY2008) funding will be sent to Local Boards for distribution in the fall.

EFSP Training Webinars Available for Replay

The webinars noted below are still available and provide information for Local Boards and LROs that is relevant to the administration of the EFSP. It is highly recommended that all Local Board members and LRO staff view these webinars.

On Wednesday, March 21, 2007 and Thursday, March 22, 2007, the EFSP hosted two unique training opportunities for Local Boards and Local Recipient Organizations (LROs). If you were not able to join us, both the Local Board and LRO seminars are now available for you to replay at your convenience.

When entering your organization ID, a Local Board would enter the jurisdiction ID, 123456 for example. For an LRO, enter 123456789, where 123456 represents the jurisdiction ID and 789 is your LRO number. Do not include the phase number or any dashes.
